Hello to all our members, friends and supporters,
We hope you are safe and well during this difficult time. It truly affects everyone across the globe, but at the same time we’re all in it together, and against the darkest of backgrounds the brightest lights shine forth. While everyone is being asked to stay at home for the benefit of themselves and others, we’re also witnessing an incredible outpouring of community support and individual care (albeit from a physical distance.)
The North Beach Artist Guild, The Gallery of Ocean Shores, and Studio 6 are facing the same challenges as most organizations, both in-town and across the country, and that is: How to stay engaged and service our community during a period of mandated physical distancing. We are reminded of two famous quotes:
“The times, they are a-changin’.” - Bob Dylan
“And now for something completely different.” - Monty Python
NBAG has historically supported our local community through our physical location. Our website, our newsletter and even our Facebook page has been utilized to promote onsite events, classes and activity. That WILL be changing. We intend to step-up our efforts to bring art and art education to our community via online platforms. Hopefully, and with your support, our “community” will be broadened as well as enriched.
We will keep you informed in the coming weeks as we work on new and different ways for us to interact online. Our ultimate goal will be to bring our gallery, our events and even our classes directly to you, no matter where you are physically. For us, that is something “completely different.” These changes take time and money, so please be patient with us. As we build this capability we’ll be offering online sales and asking for donations to keep the doors open. In the mean-time, stay safe and support your local businesses wherever you can. Together we will adapt and emerge from this stronger.
Thank you for your continued support.
