Photogravure Intaglio Prints are a complex way of producing images based on a style originally developed by Italian, Dutch, and German masters back in the 1500s. James uses modern environmentally friendly materials to transfer a photographic image onto an "engraved" plate.  From this, ink is applied to the plate and squeezed through high pressure rollers to create a print on paper. The prints can be further refined by hand coloring. The look is distinctive and reminiscent of past times.
