Sandy Early has just moved here from Colorado and wants to share some exciting clay techniques and fun with those who might be new to clay or want to freshen up their clay work. The single day class will be on Saturday, March 3rd from 1:00 – 3:30 at the Clay Studio at the North Beach Artists Guild Gallery. This one is FREE, but needs to be pre-registered (so that there is standing room in the Studio).
Artist Ardith Forsgren is the March Artist of the Month at The Gallery of Ocean Shores. Ardith’s work will be featured all month in The Gallery at 849 Point Brown Avenue NW in Ocean Shores, Washington. Ardith will be at the Gallery on Saturday, March 17th, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. to meet you and discuss her work. This Third Saturday Event also features live music and refreshments.
Ardith has been creating and exploring medias for her creation for quite a while. Her craft built upon jewelry making in Hawaii using black coral and other native components. From there, she delved in leather stamping in Arizona (I think she liked the sunshine??) Now, her ceramic creations are epic. Ardith began her study of ceramics while at Boeing’s pottery studio. Ardith also has watercolor pieces and cards at the Gallery. She has been an active and supportive member of the participating artists who make the Gallery of Ocean Shores such an asset to the community.
When she retired to Ocean Shores, she found Roy Lowry’s watercolor classes. After several hundred paintings, she is always expanding her art. While her favorite medium is currently pottery, she has displayed in jewelry, leather, painting (mixed media, watercolor and ink), and wood carving. Ardith is grateful for the impetus the Guild gives her creativity. She feels that she is very lucky to have found her muse.
