November Artist of the Month JuLee Wolfe

North Beach Artists Guild Artist of the Month

Artist JuLee Wolfe is the November Artist of the Month at The Gallery of Ocean Shores.  JuLee’s work will be featured all month in The Gallery at 849 Point Brown Avenue NW in Ocean Shores, Washington. JuLee will be at the Gallery on Saturday, November 18th, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. to meet you and discuss her work. This Third Saturday Event also features live music and refreshments.

JuLee Wolfe has been a Washingtonian native all her life. Born in Spokane and raised in central Washington, some of her earliest artistic efforts were towards painting, but in the fullness of time she has laid her hands to nearly every form of physical art or craft, from sewing and quilting to pottery, sculpting, paper craft, glass work, and many other forms and media. Inspired by her travels as well as her interests in speculative fiction and fantasy, she has participated in many artistic groups across the state, and joined North Beach Artists Guild when the time came to leave her career as a lab technologist behind and retire so as to explore her art full time. Then she found the beautiful community that is Ocean Shores, and the delightful group of like minded creators that appreciate her and her work here at the Gallery of Ocean Shores.

For the last 11 years, JuLee’s main area of focus has been in the relatively new media of polymer clay, hence her online handle of “Polymer Penguin” . The newness of the material has caused her to combine art with alchemy as nearly every new piece is in exploration into new dyes, colors, textures, and chemical reactions mixing to arrive at truly unique creations. She has dabbled with this pioneer aspect in other areas, going back to painting and mixed media with an experimental freshness that she will continue to share and display with her colleagues here at the gallery.
